2008 Severe Storms in Eastern Oklahoma into Western Arkansas
I had just got to
Sallisaw, Oklahoma to intercept a severe line of storms when the
NWS Tulsa issued a tornado warning for the storm. Looking at
radar I was a little confused as to why the warning was issued as
I didn't see any rotation and certainly the storm itself looked
100% linear and seemingly incapable of tornado production. I
stayed in front of the storm from Sallisaw all the way to Ozark
where I finally let it overtake me. The line was moving really
fast and even after jetting out so far in front of it that I
couldn't even see the lowering of the shelf cloud I would only
have a few minutes before the storm was right there. Pictures
below.
