The Orionid Meteor Shower peaks on October 21, 2007 but meteors can be observed for several days before and for several days after the peak. Here are pictures of the 2007 Orionid Meteor Shower

I put a movie on youtube showing the meteor and the residual smoke trail that persisted. Click here to see that.

October 13, 2007 Orionid Meteors
I saw plenty of meteors. Sometimes 3-4 would fall every minute for a minute or two then slow up for a while. Most of the
meteors were faint and fast. But one meteor was extrememly bright and left behind a visible smoke trail for 7-8 minutes!
and the visible smoke trail
Didn't get as many meteors as last night. This was bright but went out of camera view
Composite of 4 seperate meteors.
Meteor clearly pointing out the Orionid Radiant.
This is obviously not a Orionid but its nice anyway.
A nice bright Orionid Meteor.
This meteor occurred less than 30 seconds after the previous one but came from the opposite direction and appears to be a possible late Draconid Meteor.

Unzoomed and zoom of same meteor from just after midnight.
