High Risk Chase - April 6, 2006

Chased as part of job responsibilities today – tv photographer. They let me go in mid-afternoon for a target of near Wilburton, OK (as that would put me in a location to intercept any storm that would head toward and affect the Fort Smith, AR area. Storms fired well to my NW near Tulsa and eventually to my W. I raced north on HWY 2 from Wilburton. The storm finally began to race into view and it looked pretty decent. Near Lewisville I took a few pictures of the nice storm structure

The storm was racing pretty fast (as expected) and I continued north from Kinta to Whitefield. From just east of Whitefield I noticed a significant lowering to my NW (also the same time a brief tornado was reported in same area) so it is possible that the lowering in the bottom middle of the picture is the possible tornado. We were just too far away to see if it was rotating or not.

and the storms also put out nice lightning as they raced away
