November 1, 2009 Hemmed-In Hollow Falls and Boxley Valley Elk
I hiked for the first time to Hemmed-In Hollow. It is the tallest waterfall in Arkansas at 209 feet..its also recognized as the tallest waterfall between the Appalachians and Rockies. On the way there and back I passed through Boxley Valley on the Buffalo River and got some pictures of the Arkansas Elk Herd and valley fog. The hike back out of 1,300 feet was worth it but it was tough! The second tallest waterfall in Arkansas (Diamond Falls - 148 feet) is just around the corner but I didnt visit today although I caught it and Hemmed-In from the overlook.
