January 31, 2008 Snow!
In Western Arkansas




The morning after the snow provided a nice backdrop for a planetary close encounter (in the sky) of Venus and Jupiter. From February 1-4 there will be excellent views of this close encounter and on the 3rd and 4th the moon will join in to form a triangle.



As the soon rose I took a few more pictures. Within a hour we went from mostly clear to thick fog and low clouds with visibilities of about 100yds.
