OCTOBER 18th, 2004 NORTHEAST ARKANSAS CHASE
(continued...)

After about 15 minutes we continued down hwy 25.

At 5:00PM we made it into Batesville, AR. We stopped on top of the bluff overlooking the town. The two storms to our northeast were still going strong and the storm we were chasing all day was as well but was difficult to get good pictures/video of that due to bad contrast.

The small storm that had been growing behind us was now moving in from the west. Once my attention was focused on it i noticed it was evolving into a low precipitation supercell.

Northeast Arkansas Storms Video

We saw the LP supercell go through a bit of a transformation process going from a more classic LP supercell to a more Classic Supercell. As the storm moved north of Batesville we saw a nice tiered updraft base and a small lowering associated with it that did have a bit of rotation. We continued to watch the LP supercell untill a little after 6pm when we decided to head home. The storm did go on to porduce tornadoes in northeastern Arkansas.

On the way south and home i took this last shot of the storm
